Jack Rosen Catalog

The goals of the project is to conserve and preserve nationally recognized photographer Jack Rosen’s extensive collection of approximately 100,000 images, and to create a permanent electronic database and catalog of the images in Rosen’s possession. Additionally, to make the electronic database accessible to the public through several area museums, libraries and nonprofit organizations. The Mitchner Museum has provided the volunteers and the space to facilitate the initial catalogue work.

Michio Kushi Documentary

Dear Friends,

We would like to produce a documentary highlighting the extraordinary life and accomplishments of Michio Kushi. The documentary will be hosted by actor/author Dirk Benedict and would be produced by Active Entertainment Productions, Inc. (AEP). AEP has produced a primetime series for Discovery Communications.

The documentary will track Mr. Kushi's evolution as the world's leading authority on the healing properties of food and macrobiotics. It will explore Michio's influence in Japan, Europe, and the US and throughout the world along with his personal journey including his roots in Japan. In depth interviews with world-renowned medical authorities will explore the enormous impact of Kushi's work on the adoption of alternative treatments in mainstream medicine. The importance of this will be highlighted through poignant accounts from people who attribute their health and even their recovery from terminal illness to his teachings. Our Host, Mr. Benedict attributes his own recovery from prostate cancer to Kushi's pioneering work.

Our goal is to raise $150,000 for the production of this documentary. Fundraising through Frog Pond Productions enables your entire tax-deductible donation to be applied directly to the development of this significant project. If you need any further information please contact Sheri DeMaris at 610-995-0595. And, thank you for contributing to such a worthwhile project.

Jennie Avila CD Release to Benefit A Woman's Place

August 2004 Frog Pond Productions began receiving funding in the form of donations to benefit a music project called the “Jennie Avila CD Release to Benefit A Woman’s Place of Bucks County.” As part of this project a CD release party and concert took place. All of the proceeds from the door and 10% of the proceeds from the sale of the CD at the party benefited A Woman’s Place in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Thereafter, a portion of the proceeds of the album will continue to benefit A Woman Place of Bucks County. A Woman's Place of Bucks County is a feminist social change nonprofit organization committed to ending intimate and familial violence through programs providing empowerment, education and advocacy, including support and direct services, with a primary focus on violence and abuse perpetrated by men against women. A Woman's Place of Bucks County works to change societal and institutional systems and practices that condone and perpetuate violence, oppression and abuse of women and children. A Woman’s Place of Bucks County is a United Way member agency.
